MORGANTOWN, W.Va. Morgantown community and business leaders are working together to find jobs for people directly impacted by the upcoming closure of the Mylan Pharmaceutical facility.
Viatris Inc. on Friday announced plans to close or eliminate 15 facilities, including the Chestnut Ridge Road operation. The company is looking to cut $1 billion in costs by 2024. The Morgantown facility will close in July 2021, leaving 1,500 employees without jobs.
Russ Rogerson, president and CEO of the Morgantown Area Partnership, said the effort is aimed at absorbing some of the economic impact of the closure.
