When a kitchen is cramped or clutter-filled, cooking is not as much fun.
Fortunately for owners of the Icon model by Calbridge Homes, this won’t be a concern.
Jason Kenney was pissed.
On Jan. 20, the Alberta premier walked into a press conference at the legislature in Edmonton, making a beeline to a podium that bore a sign reading “Standing up for Alberta.” Wearing a dusky navy blue suit and matching tie, Kenney was responding to breaking news that U.S. President Joe Biden had just cancelled the Keystone XL pipeline, which was to carry oil from Alberta to Nebraska.
“This is a gut punch for the Canadian and Alberta economies,” said Kenney. “Sadly, it’s an insult directed at the United States’ most important ally and trading partner.” The premier said up to 2,000 unionized workers had just lost their jobs and if the Biden administration was unwilling to discuss the matter, “it’s clear the government of Canada must impose trade and economic sanctions” against the U.S.

An old railroad route known as the Cowboy Line is being redeveloped into a 195-mile recreational trail and will be part of the national Great American Rail-Trail. As the Cowboy Trail nears completion, it’s already attracting cyclists from Nebraska as well as riders from across the US and beyond.
Meanwhile, signatures on two petitions on Facebook opposing the UPC government’s pro-coal mining moves surged past 100,000.
Last March, at the beginning of the pandemic, the Jason Kenney government quietly revoked the province’s 44-year-old Coal Policy.
The visionary policy, created by former premier Peter Lougheed after extensive public consultation, said most of the eastern slopes of the Rockies should remain off limits to mountain-top removal in order to protect water security, wildlife and the area’s beauty.
Kenney’s axing of the policy immediately opened up 1.5 million hectares of the Rockies for coal development, including the headwaters of major rivers in the South and North Saskatchewan river basins.

We took on four different trail projects and succeeded on all fronts: HAPI Trails trail clearing, a re-routing of the Bearwalk Trail, and two downfall clearing workdays, one on South Leigh Creek and the other on Moose Creek Trails. Big thanks to all who helped to make these trails more accessible to hikers and equestrians alike.
