Article content During Elliot Lake’s March 22 council meeting, Mayor Dan Marchisella put forward a recommendation to update council’s standing committees. He recommended Councillor Tom Turner join the finance and administration committee and chair the economic development committee. Councillor Luc Cyr would also be added to the economic development committee, as per the mayor’s suggestion. “I totally disagree with this report,” Councillor Chris Patrie said. “I would like to have my standing committee boards back.” Patrie was removed from all committees and boards of council in late November 2019. The recommendation for removal came from the city’s integrity commissioner’s report, which noted “various breaches of conduct” regarding “subverting council’s authority and decision-making process.”
