The committee will recommend smaller increases than originally planned, but stretched out further in time. Erik Martin | Darke County Media GREENVILLE Greenville City Council’s Utilities Committee on Thursday revisited the city’s plans to increase rates on water and sewer for city residents. By unanimous consent, all three committee members approved a recommendation to council for a decrease in the planned rate hikes. A previous measure, which would have increased water rates by 50 percent in May 2021, and 18 percent in November 2021, as well as hikes of 25 and 10 percent for sewer rates, respectively, was voted down 6-0 during council’s March 16 meeting.

Accessibility commission to review city parks for inclusivity, compliance | News, Sports, Jobs

mmaroney@sungazette.com The weather is breaking and those who care about accessibility in Williamsport’s nine parks were given assignments to check for inclusivity and access as the city consulting firms go after federal and state government grants. Three of the members on City Council’s accessibility advisory commission Thursday said during the meeting on Zoom that they were willing to go out and check on any issues they find that may be able to put on a list for two of the city economic development consulting firms – Delta Development Group and Thomas Keller and Keller Partners. The inspections will look at: Memorial Park, Newberry/Phil Preziosi Park; Youngs Woods Park, Lose Park, Ways Garden, East End Park, Veterans Memorial Park and Brandon Park.

Eventually, in 2001, he was elected to the Los Angeles City Council, where he served until 2015.
