DAVIESS CO., Ky. (WFIE) - Daviess County Detention Center is limiting visitors to the facility after another COVID-19 outbreak where 51 inmates and five staff members have tested positive.
The detention center had another outbreak back in December.
Officials are not entirely sure how this current outbreak started, but believe a staff member or new inmate could have brought it into the building.
“We’re just on limited movement to keep the spread from going into other housing units. Behind me in this building there’s over 100 cells. I would say roughly 12 of them are affected by this with the outbreak,” said Art Maglinger, the jailer.
