The New Normal: What A Post-COVID World Looks Like As vaccine rates continue to rise, many officials are establishing guidelines for what people can expect the new normal to be like. Masks, plexiglass barriers and online shopping are likely to stay. Nicole Cobler, Austin American-Statesman   |   March 16, 2021   |  Analysis (TNS) Texas Gov. Greg Abbott touted a slew of Republican-led legislative measures Monday that take aim at Harris County s attempts to expand early voting and mail-in ballot access in the 2020 election. The governor said the measures, carried by Sen. Paul Bettencourt, R- Houston, would improve election security in Texas. There s really one thing all of us can and should agree upon, and that is we must have trust and confidence in our elections, Abbott said, speaking from Bettencourt s district office in Houston. One way to do that is to make sure that we reduce the potential for voter fraud in

Judge dismisses charges Marion Auditor Robert Landon John Matthews

Charges filed on Election Day 2019 against Marion City Auditor Robert Landon and former GOP Chairman John Matthews were dismissed by visiting Judge James S. Rapp on Wednesday. Landon (R), 30, of Marion was facing charges of two first-degree misdemeanors for allegedly illegally distributing a sample ballot and allegedly sending out communications purporting to be from the board of elections. Matthews, 54, of Caledonia was facing one first-degree misdemeanor charge for illegally distributing a sample ballot. In the verdict, Judge Rapp ruled while they did send out sample ballots, charging them for this would be unconstitutional, citing their first amendment rights. Landon said because of the charges, he and his family have been completely devastated by unprecedented, malicious and evil political attack. Landon said he, his wife, his kids and even his parents were all victims of abuse throughout the 16 months leading up to the trial.

Bucks GOP finds party challengers post-Trump endorses candidates

Pat Poprik, chair of the Bucks County Republican Organization, admits the party has lost a few members since the fall election and the deadly insurrection in Washington, but was encouraged by the turnout Thursday night when the party s executive committee gathered to make endorsements for the May 18 primary.  Some 100 party faithful showed up in person or online by Zoom. The party had the strongest attendance that I ve seen in all the years I ve been doing this, said Poprik, who s been chair since 2012. It was incredible. Even the Republicans in Bristol Township  a bastion of Democratic voting  are appointing committee people.  We have an enthusiasm and interest that is unbelievable,   she said.

Pamplin Media Group - Buchal: Former county GOP head says party fighting to save America s soul

March 02 2021 The former chair of the Multnomah County Republicans says not to trust the media regarding the presidential election. Editor s Note: This column by former Multnomah County Republican Party chair James L. Buchal makes allegations of widespread voter fraud in the 2020 presidential election. No evidence of widespread voter fraud has been uncovered and federal judges have repeatedly dismissed lawsuits claiming voter fraud in the election citing a lack of evidence. After a summer of attacks upon federal, state and private property deemed mostly peaceful by the media, a similar demonstration at the U.S. Capitol produced a continuing and overblown media frenzy about insurrection. After tolerating fringe insurrectionists who are Democrats for decades, leading Democrats and weak-willed Republicans now lead a puritanical effort to purge those challenging insurrection-related narratives from the public square.
