Stony Brook will need to wait at least another year to see its first player ever selected in the NFL Draft. However, on Saturday, May 1, following the conclusion of the 2021 draft, three former Seawolves football players safety Augie Contressa, defensive tackle Sam Kamara and defensive back TJ Morrison signed contracts with NFL teams as undrafted free agents.
Draft Wire at USA Today editor Luke Easterling announced on Twitter that Contressa would be signing with the reigning Super Bowl champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Easterling praised Contressa as a “versatile defender,” adding that he has a good chance to “stick on special teams, and even push for that last safety spot.”
