Just how can people who don’t share any biological lineage, ethnicity or nationality look-alike? Could be because the bible tells us on good authority that we all came from Adam and Eve and even your wife could thus be your sibling? But does everyone have a doppelganger? There’s a fairly decent chance of it, actually, thanks to the limited number of genes that influence facial features.
Michael Sheehan, an assistant professor of neurobiology and behaviour at Cornell University, USA, told the journal
Nature that “there is only so much genetic diversity to go around,” said the scholar who studies appearance variations and genetics in species such as paper wasps and house mice. “If you shuffle that deck of cards so many times, at some point, you get the same hand dealt with you twice.”

Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho has declared the start of his presidential campaign.
Pledging to allocate Sh300 billion for youth and women enterprises if elected next year, Joho yesterday dismissed Deputy President William Ruto’s vow to allocate Sh29 billion to support small-scale businesses as money that will not make a difference.
The governor said he has applied for an ODM presidential party ticket and asked former Prime Minister Raila Odinga for his support.
Joho, who promised to revolutionise the country’s economy and create jobs for the youth, said Ruto derives pleasure from throwing alms and tokens to the poor and that he was hoodwinking Kenyans with wheelbarrows to cover his failures.

More than 20 elected leaders from the Coast region yesterday gathered at a private location in Nyali, Mombasa, amid the growing clamour for a local political party.
Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho (pictured) and his Kilifi counterpart Amason Kingi led the leaders in the closed-door forum, which was skipped by Deputy President William Ruto’s allies.
Joho has announced plans to seek the presidency through ODM while Kingi has declared intention to unveil a political party for Coast by June.
But Ruto’s allies dismissed the meeting, saying it had failed the test of uniting the residents.
