The City of L A Tweets Birthday Accolades to Mayor Eric Garcetti—It Goes as Expected

(AP Photo/Nick Ut, File) I have no idea who runs the City of Los Angeles Twitter account, but it seems as though they are practicing for their after-hours, stand up comedy gig. Maybe they just need to sit down instead. It may come as a great surprise, but Mayor Eric Garcetti is not universally loved. But the City of L.A. decided to tweet out a birthday message anyway. It went about as expected: A year older and so much has changed, but our beloved Mayor Garcetti @MayorOfLA continues to age with wisdom and grace while managing the ever changing needs of LA and Angelenos.

My Top 7 Favorite Pandemic Meals of 2020

Not all of this year has been a train wreck. For those who don’t know, I’m a major foodie, and cooking meals and feeding people is one of my happy places. While feeding people (other than my husband) was a rare occurrence in 2020, I got to cook a lot of meals, and because I had the time (and thankfully the money), I got to try out some new recipes and new meal options. So to spread the joy, and to reminisce, here are my 7 Favorite Pandemic Meals in 2020. The minute the government stooges started talking about the virus and Governor Hair Gel decided in March that we needed to be confined to our homes, my first goal was to protect my and my husband’s immune system as much as possible. Deep green and leafy vegetables were already a staple in our home, but I went into overdrive and stocked up. This also led into finding other ways to partake of those vegetables beyond steaming and roasting.

Head of Trauma in Contra Costa, CA Fired for Questioning COVID Restrictions While CA Unions Canvass for Stacey Abrams

(AP Photo/Rick Bowmer) Dr. Michael deBoisblanc is a trauma surgeon and medical director of Trauma and Regional Services for John Muir Health in Contra Costa County, California. For context, the County is about an hour or so East of San Francisco. As of last Friday, Dr. deBoisblanc no longer holds this position. Dr. deBoisblanc, along with two other doctors, wrote a letter to Contra Costa County’s Health Director and the Board of Supervisors, basically stating that they believed students and small businesses were suffering unnecessarily under the COVID restrictions. These doctors also said they were deeply concerned about the lockdowns and that science is clear that more lockdowns lead to much more non-COVID morbidity and mortality. This is not news, The CDC’s Dr. Robert Redfield said as much in hearings before Congress.

Major Donations to The Recall Gavin Effort Means Newsom s Days as CA Governor Are Numbered

AP Photo/Marcio Jose Sanchez The Recall Gavin Newsom effort just received more cash infusions. How much? Enough to be a game changer that puts boots on the ground in order to get the less than 600,000 signatures needed to complete the Recall effort. Thanks to contributions from Prov 3:9, LLC, and Sequoia Capital’s Douglas Leone and Patricia Perkins-Leone, it looks like the money for boots and advertising is now available. After I wrote back in early December that conservative heavyweights Newt Gingrich and Governor Mike Huckabee threw their support behind the Recall, I also spotlighted the grassroots efforts of RecallGavin2020 that has already garnered 810,000 signatures. Those signatures are being certified as I write, and they make up more than half the 1,495,709 total signatures needed by March 2021 deadline.
