Ahead of the 2023 general elections, the PDP would have to stem its internal squabbles and wave of crises rocking its state chapters.
The Kano, Adamawa, Nasarawa, Lagos, Ogun, Osun, Ekiti, Niger, Plateau, Cross River, Ebonyi and Edo chapters of the party are entangled in intense crises as party stalwarts have continued to battle over the control of structures in their states.
Plateau, Osun, Ekiti and Ebonyi chapters are already enmeshed in litigations over who would control the party.
Apart from the various crises in the state chapters, another crisis is raging in the South-West as a former governor of Ekiti State, Ayo Fayose and the incumbent governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, are on the warpath over who leads the party in the zone.
Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo state has accused his predecessor, Rochas Okorocha of planning to destroy the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state before defecting to another party.

Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma, on Friday said ex-governor Rochas Okorocha planned to destroy the All Progressives Congress in the state before defecting to another party.
Uzodinma made the claim while reacting to Okorocha’s accusation on Thursday that the governor was not working for the interest of the party.
Okorocha said the APC was “no longer breathing” in the state since Uzodinma became the governor.
But Uzodinma’s Senior Special Assistant on Print Media, Modestus Nwamkpa, who reacted to Okorocha’s claims, described the former governor as a “sinking man.”
Nwamkpa said Okorocha was only angry that under Uzodinma’s watch, the APC had gained ground in the South-East, a situation which saw the defection of the Ebonyi State Governor, Dave Umahi, to the party.

A common feature of the 2020 Christmas celebration in the South East was massive traffic hold ups, particularly along federal highways such as in Enugu-Ontisha expressway and Enugu-Port Harcourt road.
Our correspondent who monitored the state of the roads was caught up in the traffic for several hours at the Enugu end of both federal highways on different dates.
Despite the bad state of the roads in several areas, nevertheless, motorists had no option but to ply them to get to their various destinations. Work is ongoing at one flank of the Enugu-Port Harcourt road where reconstruction of the road has lasted more than five years.
