An Eastern Michigan University graduate and ex-fraternity member accused of sexual assaults by nine women will weigh a plea deal in the case.
Dustyn Durbin, 24, of Frenchtown Township, currently faces 13 counts of criminal sexual conduct from reported assaults said to have occurred during his time at the school and often in his Alpha Sigma Phi fraternity house.
However, the Washtenaw County Prosecutor s Office has put an offer on the table, said Assistant Prosecutor Christina Hines during a Monday court appearance at the Washtenaw County Trial Court.
Hines declined to state the details of the offer until the attorneys and defendant appear next time in front of Circuit Judge Patrick Conlin.

ANN ARBOR, MI – Two men accused off stealing a backpack from a car then fighting the bag’s owner when he attempted to get it back are heading to trial.
Victor Lynn Stephens, 60, and Gage Andrew Hammond, 24, are heading to trial on various felony charges following an incident in Ann Arbor where the pair are accused of robbing a man at knifepoint.
Following a preliminary examination Thursday, Jan. 21, Hammond was bound over for trial on one count each of aiding and abetting armed robbery, unarmed robbery and malicious destruction of property.

ANN ARBOR, MI – Xavier Payne has been in jail without bond for more than three years awaiting trial for a murder he’s accused of committing when he was 16.
After a bond hearing Tuesday afternoon, Jan. 12, he will remain in jail until jury trials become possible again amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
Washtenaw County Trial Judge Patrick Conlin issued the ruling ordering Payne to remain in jail without bond, saying that given the nature of the case, there are no reasonable means to ensure the safety of the public if he were to be freed ahead of trial.

With continuing COVID-19 restrictions, it is unlikely he will have a jury trial anytime soon, leading his attorney Steven Tramontin to request at a motion hearing Monday, Jan. 11. Tramontin is requesting that either Payne’s charges be dismissed for violating his right to a speedy trial or grant him a reasonable bond.

ANN ARBOR, MI – At the request of his victim, a man accused of sexually assaulting a 96-year-old woman during an Ann Arbor home invasion won’t be going to prison.
Dejon Dejor Lynn was sentenced Monday, Dec. 14, to one year in jail followed by five years probation and 100 hours community service by Washtenaw County Trial Judge David Swartz, honoring a sentencing agreement at the request of the victim who said she didn’t want to see another man disappear into the prison system when there’s a chance for rehabilitation out of prison.
