Congratulations to the Unalaska City School District Class of 2021!
Due to COVID-19 crowd restrictions, graduation will look different than previous years. The graduation ceremony will take place on Saturday, May 15 at 7 p.m. The event is limited to a small audience, and the general public should plan to watch over Channel 8 TV or KUCB s Facebook Live page.
After the success of last year s graduation parade, the Unalaska City School District has scheduled a parade for this Friday, May 14. The parade will depart from Eagle s View Elementary School, circle the Valley Loop, and then head across the bridge to Amaknak Island, past the grocery store and airport and finally circle back over Standard Oil Hill.

The Nisswa American Legion dedicates an M-60 tank memorial to the 194th Tank Battalion. Among the attendees in the ceremony were three remaining survivors from the 34th Company of that battalion: Walt Straka, Henry Peck and Russell Swearinger.

Community Action of Pequot Lakes will host the 34th annual Miss Pequot Lakes Scholarship Pageant at 7 p.m. Friday, April 23, in the Pequot Lakes High School auditorium.

Miss Pequot Lakes 2020 Sidney Dorion will crown one of six area high school candidates as the area’s newest royalty. Miss Pequot Lakes candidates are Jackalyn Fox, Maya Orvis, Mollie Pierson, Sydnie Wgeishofski, Marie Wallin and Kelsey Polchow.
