Clay Pits Development Site In Pallinghrust | Loxwood Clay Pits  Clay pits development site in Pallinghurst Estate is located approximately 1.5km to the east/northeast of the Loxwood village. Underlain by the Weald Clay Formation, this site is a principal clay resource and it is well located for supplying several relatively local brickworks. Loxwood Clay Pits Ltd. aims to excavate minerals (principally clay shale) from the site including the development of a construction materials recycling facility (CMRF) to provide local recycling facilities and the utilization of some recycled materials for the restoration of the clay pit. After the compilation of the project, the site will be restored back to deciduous forestry plantation along with an addition of a small fishing lake for the benefit of the local community.

Man Attacked In Ballymena A man has been attacked by two intruders who forced their way into a house in Ballymena. The victim was punched in the face and beaten with a baseball bat at a property on Princess Street at around 6pm on Tuesday, 04 May. He did not need hospital treatment, however he did receive media attention. Detective Sergeant Lenaghan said: One of the men is described as being approximately 6 ft 1” to 6 ft 2” tall, around 30 years of age, of stocky build and clean shaven. He was dressed in a dark coloured baseball cap and an Adidas tracksuit. The second male is described as being approximately 5 ft 7 to 5 ft 8 tall, around 18 or 19 years of age, and of slim build. He had dirty fair hair which appeared to be shaved at the sides and back, and was dressed in a dark red zipped hoody and grey tracksuit bottoms.

A new route from Belfast City Airport to Cardiff is to launch this summer. Stobart Air, operator of Aer Lingus Regional routes, confirmed flights to the Welsh capital will commence on 28 June and will operate up to four times a week. The airline currently flies from Belfast City Airport to Birmingham, East Midlands, Edinburgh, Exeter, Leeds Bradford, London Heathrow, and Manchester, and recently announced it would commence a summer service to popular staycation destination, Newquay. Ellie McGimpsey, Aviation Development Manager at Belfast City Airport, said: Stobart Air already boasts an impressive network from Belfast City Airport, serving key destinations across both England and Scotland.

Nigel Dodds To Step Down As DUP Deputy Leader Nigel Dodds has announced he is to step down as deputy leader of the Democratic Unionist Party (DUP). He said he will not be seeking re-election when the position and leadership role are voted on next Friday. Lord Dodds said: Following my appointment to the House of Lords I decided that I would be stepping back from my party role whenever the next internal election cycle occurred. Since, under the party rules, Peers are not even part of the party’s electoral college for leadership positions, it would be incongruous and inappropriate to do otherwise.
