TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (WPMI) The Education Policy Center, a research group at the University of Alabama released a report this week suggesting that a scholarship program should be created if Alabama gets a lottery.
Revenue from the lottery should be placed in the program. According to the report, it would allow around 56,000 students in Alabama to attend college for free or at a reduced rate through grants.
“Because poor kids sitting around the kitchen table deciding to go need to have consistent, stable, sustainable funding,” Education Policy Center Representative said.
