RILL Announces April Classes
Rappahannock Community College’s Rappahannock Institute for Lifelong Learning (RILL) offers April classes.
Do you or someone you know struggle with time management, task completion, focus? ADHD is a neurobiologicadisorder that affects the ability to focus, manage time, initiate and sustain action, complete tasks and regulate emotions.
“Living with ADHD: Challenges and Solutions” will be held
on Thursday, April 1 from 1 pm to 3 pm via Zoom. This workshop delves into how ADHD shows up, brain challenges underlying ADHD, various clinical models and ways of addressing, understanding, accepting, and managing ADHD. Instructor Debbie Bowie offers daily strategies and ideas for people who have ADHD as well as their family members. Bowie holds a Master’s degree in Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation Counseling from Virginia Commonwealt University. Advance registration and tuition payment of $20 is required.

Scholarship in honor of slain BC3 grad tops $13K

BUTLER A legacy scholarship established Dec. 17 to honor the memory of Caitlyn Kaufman has exceeded $13,000 in the weeks following the shooting death of the 26-year-old Butler County Community College nursing graduate.
Approximately 37 individuals and organizations through Dec. 31 contributed a combined $13,035 to the fund commemorating Kaufman, a 2018 BC3 graduate who was killed Dec. 3 on her way to work as an intensive care unit nurse at St. Thomas West Hospital in Nashville, Tenn.
The Caitlyn Kaufman ’18 Legacy Nursing Scholarship would reach an endowment level when funds surpass $15,000, according to Ruth Purcell, who retired Dec. 31 as executive director of the BC3 Education Foundation, which will administer the scholarship.
Shreveport Helping Several Non Profit Agencies
The Shreveport Council recently approved some extra funding for several of these agencies.
The money will come from the Riverfront Development Special Revenue Fund.
Here are the agencies getting some of the money:

Betty & Leonard Phillips Deaf Action Center $5,000
The total is $135,000 and will help these agencies continue to work through the challenges we have been facing this year.
