Washington has been known to snap up pitchers early in the draft, but this year has been the opposite, taking their first pitcher in the fourth round. Here’s who the Nationals drafted in Monday afternoon: Second round, pick 80: Daylen Lile, outfielder, Kentucky’s Trinity High School. Lile, a Louisville signee, was named Gatorade Baseball Player of the Year in Kentucky twice during his high school career. WXXV News 25 July 2, 2021 “One last time from 1-4. Dawgs win again.” Mississippi State Pitcher Riley Self had to remind Dawg Nation who is on top of the College Baseball World. As a homecoming for the OmaDawgs, who defeated Vanderbilt 9-0 in game three to claim the title, and bring Mississippi State its first national championship ever, the university orchestrated a parade for the Diamond Dawgs. This afternoon in Starkville, fans walked the streets in support of the dawgs and there was no shortage of cowbells. The parade route began at Little Dooey and ended at Dudy Noble Stadium where a ceremony honoring the newly crowned national champs was held in front of the Mississippi State faithful.
