Jack Naumann Kite 83 of Bryantown, MD passed away on Thursday April 29, 2021 at the Calvert Health Medical Center. He was a treasured husband, father, brother and friend with a gentle and joyful spirit. Along with his wife of 56 years, Jeannette Wilson Kite (deceased) he raised four loving children, Connie Kite (deceased) Vickie Kite Milburn (Patrick Milburn) Jacqueline Martin (Eddie Martin) and John Kite. Jack enjoyed fishing, sports, and nascar, eating crabs, spending time with his family and friends, and reminiscing about his young adult adventures. He loved animals, most especially dogs, that seemed to be attracted to his kind heart. Ernest Roy King, 74, of Mechanicsville, Maryland passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 2, 2021 after a courageous battle with cancer at MedStar St. Mary s Hospital, Leonardtown, MD. He was born on September 15, 1946 in Altheimer, AR to the late, E. Leon King, and T. Lois Barker. Roy entered the United States Air Force in July, 1964 and served his country and family proudly. He was honorably discharged in July, 1972 and stayed at his last duty station, in Maryland. Roy was blessed to find the love of his life, Shirley and married her in 1973. He was a dedicated man who worked tirelessly to support his family. Roy worked for Nortel Networks for over 25 years of service before his retirement. Once he retired from his day-to-day job, he decided to work for the St. Mary s County Public School system for 6 years. He felt education was important and having graduated from the College of Southern Maryland with his Associate s degree he wanted to inspire others to fulfill their own aspiratio

CCBC to receive $92,000 via EARN Maryland program Posted on ROSEDALE, MD Governor Larry Hogan on Friday announced that over $6.5 million in state funding has been awarded to 33 strategic industry partnerships through the Employment Advancement Right Now (EARN) Maryland program. EARN Maryland is the state’s nationally-recognized workforce initiative that helps businesses cultivate the skilled workforce they need to compete while preparing Marylanders for meaningful careers. “As we continue to recover from the COVID-19 pandemic, it is critical to keep investing in a well-trained, highly-skilled workforce in order to rebuild our economy and ensure a sustainable future,” said Governor Hogan, “Our state continues to be nationally-recognized for our programs on workforce development and job training, and Labor’s EARN Maryland program will continue to lead the way and show the world that Maryland is open for business.”
