The U.S. Department of Education released $21.2 billion Thursday as part of the coronavirus relief legislation Congress and President Trump approved in December to help colleges and universities nationally. Of that amount, more than $2.83 billion will go to public and private California colleges and universities.

Sheldon, Iowa A financial app on a major web portal has named Northwest Iowa Community College in Sheldon as the fourth-best in the nation.
MSN Money (MSN.com) has recently ranked Northwest Iowa Community College as the 4th best community college in the nation by cost and quality. NCC officials report that the college scored a total score of 68.27 of 100 points.
On its website, MSN Money states, “In its latest annual analysis of U.S. community colleges, WalletHub gives each school an overall score, with a possible total of 100 points. The report ranks schools by the scores, which take into account measurements of the cost of an education and students’ educational and career outcomes.”
Governor Gavin Newsom expects an even bigger post-holiday COVID-19 surge in California, he said in a noon press conference update today. He also gave an update on the regional stay-at-home order and the slow vaccine rollout.
Wisherop is the interim director for the College of San Mateo nursing program. She tells ABC7 there are 100 trained nursing students in her program that are certified to administer vaccines and need to complete clinical hours. I have students who need clinical hours, said Wisherop. All last semester they were practicing with the flu vaccine.who can totally help with this.
According to Wisherop, her students are required to complete 100 hours per semester.
Lance and Wendy Feldman have been slowly cutting ties with their native California for the last two decades.

“There’s a sense of peace up here,” Wendy said from the couple’s new home in Eagle, Idaho, a suburb of Boise. “It’s comforting not to feel like a Martian. Living in California felt like living on a different planet.”
