Baltimore Ravens owner Steve Bisciotti is creating a scholarship fund for Maryland HBCU students in honor of the team’s former general manager Ozzie Newsome, the first Black person to hold that position in the NFL.
BALTIMORE, MD (WEAA) Baltimore Ravens owner Steve Biscotti and his wife, Renee Biscotti are honoring Ozzie Newsome the team’s longtime executive and first Black general manager in NFL history by donating $4 million to Maryland’s Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs).
The $4 million donation will create the Ozzie Newsome Scholars Program, which will fund scholarships for Baltimore City Public School graduates over the course of 4 years.

CHED OKs limited face-to-face classes in 13 HEIs in Region 12

KORONADAL CITY, South Cotabato, June 3 (PIA) Thirteen higher education institutions (HEIs) offering health-related programs in Region XII have been granted authority by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) to conduct limited face-to-face classes for the Academic Year 2021 - 2022.
The Commission, through the CHED Regional Office XII, has approved the applications of some HEIs in the Region to conduct limited face-to-face classes for the new school year during the pandemic, after a series of ocular visits to assess their compliance to requirements under the Joint Memorandum Circular (JMC) No. 2021 - 001 of CHED and the Department of Health (DOH) on the Guidelines on the Gradual Reopening of Campuses of Higher Education Institutions for Limited Face-to-Face Classes during the COVID-19 Pandemic.

OWINGS MILLS, Md. Baltimore Ravens owner Steve Bisciotti had been searching for a way to properly salute Ozzie Newsome since he stepped down as the team s general manager three years ago.
Bisciotti came up with an idea that not only impacts the lives of Baltimore students but also touches on Newsome s childhood.
Bisciotti told ESPN that he and his wife are making a $4 million gift in Newsome s name to Maryland s historically Black colleges and universities. The Ozzie Newsome Scholars Program will fund scholarships for Baltimore City Public Schools graduates who attend an HBCU in Maryland.
