Searsmont Birthday boy Lee Woodward sped 60 Searsmont residents through the first 24 articles in the Annual Town Meeting Warrant May 15 in just 40 minutes. Explanations of the last three articles, all related to updates to the town’s Land Use Ordinance, took another 14 minutes, and chairs were stacked, loaded and gone in just 13 minutes more. No one opposed a single article in the streamlined warrant. And, in the wake of the governor’s recent announcement, not a single person wore a mask – although chairs were placed 6 feet apart inside the Fire Station and just outside its wide-open doors.
