While the combination of the cold snap and pandemic is likely keeping most Calgarians indoors, the Exposure Photography Festival is actually offering a nice little outdoor tour for when the weather warms.

Calgarians will see stepped-up construction in Victoria Park this year as work continues on several major city projects.
Demolition of the Stampede Corral is already underway to make room for the $500-million BMO Centre expansion, with groundbreaking to more than double the convention centre space expected later in 2021. Construction of Calgary’s new arena also called an event centre is anticipated to start this year, along with an overhaul of the Victoria Park/Stampede CTrain station that will connect 17th Avenue S.E. with Stampede Park.

Major work set to ramp up in 2021 on BMO Centre expansion, new arena and Stampede LRT station revamp
There will be a noticeable increase in construction activity in east Victoria Park this year as major work gets underway on the half-billion-dollar expansion of the BMO Centre, a new $550-million dollar downtown arena and a revamped Stampede CTrain station.

PVT CHAT, a dark comedy for the Zoom era about an Internet gambler who falls in love with a webcam girl. The film is available online Feb. 5-11.
National Geographic Live returns from its pandemic hiatus for a new series online for Arts Commons Presents. The first live-stream event Feb. 8 features Anand Varma, a photographer who specializes in the smallest creatures out there, and Prasenjeet Vadav, a molecular biologist turned-photographer.
