The ruined church of St John the Baptist in Llanwarne. A 13TH century church ruin which is at the centre of a south Herefordshire village needs £30,000 worth of repairs. The community of Llanwarne is launching a fundraising appeal to repair the walls and Lych-gate of the church ruin. The ruin is a 2 scheduled ancient monument and is known as the church by the alder trees . The church of St John the Baptist was vacated in the mid-19th century as it was prone to flooding from the nearby Gamber Brook. It is an open church where services are held during the year and is often used for romantic photograph opportunities at weddings and baptisms held in Christ Church.

In the old days, when the band was four people strong and the coronavirus was a distant nightmare waiting to happen, any Wednesday evening would find Good Company at rehearsal, working on new arrangements, practicing harmonies and enjoying one another s company with a plethora of instruments scattered around the living room. Truly, we were good company. In those days, our kids would try to shut out the music by closing the doors to their rooms so they could focus on Super Mario Brothers. Gin and tonics were the norm and a bowl of popcorn was almost as traditional as the Celtic music we were playing. Over the years, as the tempo of Father Time slowed down our lives, the children grew up and moved out, and one by one we began retiring from our day jobs. COLDWATER, Michigan â Celebrating student artwork, Arts Alive will host the Kidsâ Art Rocks annual contest and exhibit this spring offering cash prizes, art supply giveaways and the opportunity for young artists to have their artwork framed and displayed in a local business.
Students grades preschool-12 are encouraged to submit their artwork for the annual show and contest to be displayed at the Tibbits Opera House Art Gallery from June to August.
Kidsâ Art Rocks has recognized almost 300 pieces of student art since the programâs inception. Organizers expanded the program several years ago by moving to an open submission of artwork. There is no cost to enter and each student may submit one piece. Artwork should be flat or on canvas, must be unframed, be a minimum size of 8â x 10â and also be appropriate to hang in a business.
