First Friday Art Walk returns to In-Person
MUSKINGUM COUNTY, Ohio- The Zanesville First Friday Art Walk will resume in person on Friday, May 7 from 5 to 8 p.m.
Previous Art Walks were being held virtually. Now, people can walk through downtown Zanesville and find multiple studios and restaurants taking part in the event.
“Actually, my art studio will be open too. This will be the first First Friday in my new art studio and so I’m pretty excited about that… Anybody that comes to my art studio, if you’ve purchased art from another artist during that art walk, I’m going to give you 10 percent off. I really want to help all the artists,” ArtCoZ president Kristen Brown said.
M-HOPE, MRC embraces identity in Multicultural Art Showcase
Event included Zoom performances, displays on the Spine

This Friday, April 30, Binghamton University’s Mental Health Outreach Peer Educators (M-HOPE) hosted a Multicultural Art Showcase in collaboration with the Multicultural Resource Center (MRC). The event was held in celebration of artistic expression inspired by students’ cultural and personal identities. Attendees were able to visit and participate in the first part of the event, which took place on the Spine from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Then, they were able to view performances on Zoom from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.
The Multicultural Art Showcase this year drew inspiration from the discontinued Art Walks that M-HOPE had hosted in previous years. This year’s event, however, had to adapt in response to a number of challenges, including COVID-19 restrictions and a growing number of remote students. Despite the changes made, members of M-HOPE and the MRC were optimis
Downtown Bozeman Art Walks ARE HAPPENING in 2021
This year, the Art Walks will happen on the
2nd Friday and Saturday of the month, July through September.
I love the mellow vibe of our Art Walks. They are a classy but not stuffy way to enjoy local galleries of all sorts.
Not only do the galleries on Main Street participate (along with some other retailers) but most of the shops and galleries in the Emerson Center get involved too. That makes for a really nice stroll of the entire core downtown area on Art Walk nights.

Art cooperatives have a long, albeit disjointed history in Norman.
University towns attract creative people and contribute to an atmosphere ripe for imaginative cooperation. In recent years, downtown has been the incubator for some of these endeavors, including Anty Shanty, Dope Chapel and Resonator Institute.
Involved with a few of these has been Norman artist and creative instigator Eric Piper.
âRadical programmerâ Piper has teamed up with fellow printmaker Jenna Bryan to launch Oscillator Press (OP), 315 E. Main St. Among OPâs stated goals is âenergizing and connecting art worlds and the public.â

In another sign that life may be returning to a semblance of normalcy, one of the Grayslake Arts Alliance s signature events will be held in its traditional location outside the Grayslake Heritage Center and Museum this Saturday.
Last year s edition of MayFest had to be moved to the internet because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Even though Arts Alliance President Paul Price acknowledged that the online MayFest was a success, he said he s excited it will be returning to an in-person format.
