Rosendale Theatre Shows Punk Documentary | through June 8
While Washington, DC, is chiefly identified as a center of government, it also has a reputation as a vital and influential bastion of punk rock.
Punk the Capital, a fascinating new documentary about the earliest years of DC punk (roughly 1976-1983), is screening virtually via the Rosendale Theater through June 8. The film is in many ways a prequel to 2014’s hardcore-oriented
Salad Days, focusing instead on the era that preceded the city’s latter wave of punk. Featured are interviews with and rare footage of the Bad Brains, Henry Rollins’s S.O.A., Minor Threat, the Slickee Boys, and more. Tickets are $12.

This pastoral hobby farm has been owned by the same family for generations and makes it easy to view wildlife, walk the grounds, gather eggs, and visit with the cows. It s only five minutes from North Platte, which is home to the Golden Spike Tower, an observation tower with a view of Union Pacific s Bailey Yard, the world s largest rail yard, where 10,000 rail cars are sorted and sent on to their destinations each day.
This newly renovated east-facing studio with a private entrance offers a terrific view of the morning sunrise. It s efficiently compact, clean, and simple, with a small kitchen area stocked with basics, a bunk bed for the kids, and a Queen-size bed with a memory foam mattress. There s no couch though the two padded chairs are well positioned for watching the large television. There s also a separate bathroom that is surprisingly roomy.
