California theme parks can now allow out-of-state visitors as long as they have been fully vaccinated, according to state public health officials but not all the major parks in the Bay Area and Southern California are on board with the new guidance just yet.
The California Department of Public Health released revised guidelines this week for the Blueprint for a Safer Economy reopening system that say fully vaccinated out-of-state individuals can now attend activities or events that were only open to California residents. The state is now allowing out-of-state visitors to attend California’s theme parks but only if they’re fully inoculated.
California’s Blueprint for a Safer Economy guidelines were updated April 19 with an addendum that reads: “Fully vaccinated persons from out-of-state may visit or attend activities or events that are restricted to in-state visitors.”
The California Department of Public Health didn’t immediately respond to a request by The Epoch Times for comment.
The state is also allowing entertainment venues, such as concert halls, to increase capacity on the condition that attendees provide proof of vaccination or negative COVID-19 test results.

SeaWorld San Diego announced today that it would begin welcoming out-of-state visitors, citing a change in California rules. But the state s websites showed no changes to California pandemic rules that prohibit theme park ticket sales to non-vaccinated out-of-state visitors.
On SeaWorld s website, the park stated that per state Covid-19 restrictions, attendance is limited to California in-state visitors, and now out-of-state visitors will be required to show proof of a completed Covid-19 vaccine or a negative Covid-19 test taken within 72 hours of their park visit (required for guests 3 & up).

The California Attractions and Parks Association unveiled its “Responsible Reopening plan” in mid-March. In it, Golden State authorities said they would seek to dampen “loud environments that will cause people to raise their voices.” One of the ways they plan to enforce this is by requiring “face covering usage and/or modifications to seat loading patterns on amusement park rides to mitigate the effects of shouting,” since vocal actions can spread droplets widely.
