One-Year Results Show Blue Shield of California Helped Hundreds of Healthcare Providers Successfully Navigate COVID-19 s Economic Challenges with $200 Million Direct Support Program

Share this article OAKLAND, Calif., April 28, 2021 /PRNewswire/  Blue Shield of California today announced that it has provided more than $114 million in direct financial support to  244 healthcare providers during the COVID-19 pandemic. The funds are part of a $200 million Provider Financial Support Program that Blue Shield announced last April. It has primarily helped small to mid-sized practices and hospitals in our network to rise above the financial turmoil created by the pandemic and meet their cash-flow needs after most elective care was postponed during stay-at-home orders in early 2020. Gen Z Youth Say Climate Change is Adversely Affecting Their Physical and Mental Health in New National Survey by Blue Shield of California USA - English News provided by Share this article Share this article OAKLAND, Calif., April 15, 2021 /PRNewswire/ More than eight out of 10 (83 %) Gen Z youth are concerned about the health of the planet according to the NextGen Climate Survey, released today by Blue Shield of California. A majority of respondents also say their environment affects their physical health (69%) and their mental health (75%). The survey was conducted in March to help uncover young people s top environmental concerns, how climate change impacts their well-being, and their optimism for the future. The poll included 1,200 respondents, aged 14 to 24, from across the U.S.
