CLC instrumental concert planned
The Central Lakes College (CLC) Music Department will present The Pre-Spring Concert at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Chalberg Theater on the Brainerd campus.
The event features the Woodwind Ensemble and its small groups under the direction of Chris Bolstad, the Brass Ensemble under the direction of Steve Anderson, and the CLC Jazz Band. Music ranges from small woodwind groups to Mozart on brass to contemporary swing and big band funk.

Aitkin hosts used book sale
AITKIN Friends of the Aitkin Library is hosting its spring used book sale May 7-8 at the Aitkin Library Community Room.
The book sale will be open 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and masks are required.
Explore Music! to be in person this summer
The Lakes Area Music Festival announced its Explore Music!, an annual weeklong day camp for students entering first through fifth grade, will take place in person this August.
Explore Music! is among the numerous opportunities for audiences to experience music and the arts in a new way through the music festival programs of the 2021 season, running July 30 through Aug. 22.
Brainerd Community Theatre presents award-winning ‘Art’ via livestream
“This play looks simple on its surface, but has a lot to say about what it is that draws us to other people, how we make friends, and what keeps us bonded as friends,” stated Spradlin, who also noted there is adult language in the play. “We believe in giving fair warning about such matters. If you’re streaming at home, be aware that there is strong language, as you might expect from three impassioned men.”

Crow Wing County Historical Society predicts future building reopening
The Crow Wing County Historical Society Museum and Research Library building on Laurel Street in Brainerd has been closed for more than a year because of the coronavirus pandemic. The Crow Wing County Historical Society Museum and Research Library are about the area’s past, but its officials look forward to the day they believe they can safely reopen the building.
