Artists enthrall audience at Kashmir Haat, exhibit mesmerizing performances

  SRINAGAR : The ongoing Handicrafts & Handlooms (H&H) Craft Mela 2021, which started on the 10th of this month at Kashmir Haat, is attracting more and more crowded as a large number of people turned to the exhibition on Sunday evening. During the exhibition, artists apart from Information Department including Athar Balpuri, Ghulam Mohammad Anzwali, Mohi-ud-Din Khanday, Wasim Khan, a young singer from the Sufi Mystics group mesmerized audience with Sufi Kalam, while as Gul Javed performed traditional Kashmiri songs. The handicrafts including carpets, Pashmina and Kani shawls, Paper mache, Chain stitch, men’s and women’s handmade clothing, willow wicker and other products are the center of attraction of buyers in the Mela. Besides, various food and beverage stalls setup inside the Kashmir Haat also get a good number of customers on a daily basis.

Cultural Wing DIPR holds Webinar on Covid Appropriate Behaviour

Jul 11, 2021 In all, 10 students expressed their views and experiences about the importance of following Covid Appropriate Behaviour. Rashi got 1st position, Akanksha got 2nd and 3rd was bagged by Anmol besides Consolation prizes were presented to Sabhyata and Jaspreet. Earlier, the welcome address was presented by Nidhi Sambyal and program proceedings were conducted by the Senior Cultural Assistant, Suresh Sharma. Songs and jingles were presented by artists of the Cultural wing. The Chief Guest appreciated the efforts of Information Department especial Cultural Wing for holding such thought provoking events. The Principal hoped that the department will organise more such awareness programmes to educate the masses about the importance of covid appropriate behavior. The Principal advised the students to follow covid-19 safety protocols to contain its spread.

  JAMMU: A webinar for awareness on the topic “Issues faced by persons with Disabilities (specially-abled) during COVID19″was organised by the Department of Information, Cultural Wing in collaboration with JIGER NGO Jammu. The webinar was facilitated by Humanity Welfare Organisation helpline Bijbehara. A large number of persons with disabilities joined the awareness programme and expressed their views, thoughts and experiences. Padamshree, Jawed Ahmed Tak was the chief guest, while as Joint Director, Information Department, Namrita Dogra was the guest of honour on the occasion. Joint Director Namrita Dogra advised the participants to take vaccination to fight Covid-19 and prevent its further spread. She stressed on the importance of covid appropriate behavior including Wearing appropriate Masks, maintaining Hand hygiene, maintaining social distance and avoiding crowded places.
