Four Brunei students in Egypt test positive for COVID-19: MoRA » Borneo Bulletin Online

May 14, 2021 Azlan Othman The Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA) announced that four Bruneian students in Egypt were found to be COVID-19 positive. This was based on information from the Education and Cultural Attache’ of the Embassy of Brunei Darussalam in Egypt. This was announced by Minister of Religious Affairs Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman yesterday. The minister said all Bruneian students in Cairo underwent swab tests in phases and ordered to self-isolate at their residence. Fifteen students have taken swab tests. MoRA, the Ministry of Health (MoH) and the Brunei Embassy are closely monitoring the situation.

Oman Cultural Attache London warns students of absenteeism from university lectures

Muscat: Oman’s Cultural Attaché office in London has issued a warning to Omani students who are pursuing their studies in the UK on scholarships about frequent absenteeism from university lectures. The attaché stated that this is contrary to the regulations of educational institutions, as well as immigration and residency laws in the United Kingdom. The warning stated that it is considered a violation of the Scholarships, and Study Aids Act. Any student receiving three warnings because of their absence from classes, according to the residency law in the United Kingdom, will face termination of the scholarship. Academic supervisor The attaché has advised the students to inform their academic supervisor if there is a shortfall of attendance, and to ensure necessary assistance to restore their scholarship. Academic commitment and abiding by the stipulations to sustain the scholarship are mandatory to maintain, the advice stated.
