The year 2020 was a year unlike any other, where the University of Arkansas at Little Rock faced major challenges that included a global pandemic that has redefined the education landscape.
“Throughout the year, we faced all of these challenges with determination and unprecedented levels of collaboration and collegiality no matter how exhausted we were,” Chancellor Christina Drale said during the Jan. 28 Board of Trustees meeting for the University of Arkansas. “That’s not to say there weren’t disagreements, but we rose above all of that to get the job done and I am very, very proud of the work of our campus community at all levels.”
The Northern Wyoming Community College District has announced the eight 2020 Excellence Award winners at Sheridan and Gillette colleges.
Each year, one classified employee, professional employee, faculty member and student at each college is selected based on nominations by their peers. All were honored during a virtual awards ceremony on Jan. 11.
Recipients at Sheridan College this year are Sarah Aksamit, administrative coordinator for the vice president of student affairs; Ryan Shippy, digital strategist; Jill McGraw, business faculty member; and Keegan Jenness, a secondary education and business major.

Honorees at Gillette College are Jessi Maurer, coordinator of academic affairs; Grace Henderson, assistant director of campus life and housing; Liz Hunter, engineering and physics faculty member; and Zachary Milliron (MILL-iron), an elementary education student.

Rawalpindi : Fatima Jinnah Women University (FJWU), under the leadership of Vice Chancellor, Dr. Saima Hamid has been awarded with the Academic without Border (AWB) project for the establishment of a Centre for Learning Excellence (CLE).
Academic Administrative workshop is being held from January 4 to 12, 2021 is one of the key components of this collaboration.
This workshop is organised in collaboration with the Centre of Learning Excellence (CLE) and the Office of Research, Innovation & Commercialization (ORIC) at FJWU. This workshop will focus on academic administration [the Head of Departments/ Incharges and emerging leaders] from each of the departments at FJWU.
