Health Department holds COVID-19 vaccination clinic at COA

VAN WERT – On Friday, the Van Wert County General Health District held their third large-scale COIVD-19 vaccination clinic at the Council on Aging. So far, the health department has distributed over 2,000 doses of the vaccine.
“We’ve been doing clinics at the health department almost daily,” said Environmental Health Director Britt Menchhofer. “There is more space at the Council On Aging, which allows us to have more people in there.”
Local businesses donate around 100 pizzas to healthcare workers

VAN WERT – On Thursday, nurses, doctors, and other healthcare
professionals were treated to a surprise when around 100 Pizza Hut
pizzas were donated to Van Wert Health.
The donation was made possible by a joint collaboration between Straley Realty & Auctioneers, Inc. and Keister & Baker Law.

VAN WERT – Coming off a year that forced all non-profits to rethink
how they both fundraise and spread their message has many organizations
hopeful for what 2021 might look like. For the YWCA of Van Wert County,
continuing their advocacy message of fighting for women’s rights and
racial justice was just as important during a global pandemic as it is
any year. Advocacy Coordinator Kelly Houg said that stopping that
message during the pandemic “was never an option.”
