Buhari gives marching order to NESENI to produce helicopter

PRESIDENT Muhammadu Buhari has given a marching order to the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure, NASENI, to manufacture made in Nigeria helicopter.
President Buhari also ordered the Minister of Finance, Mrs. Zainab Ahmed and the Federal Inland Revenue Service, FIRS, to commence the process of releasing statutory funds due to the agency to enable it fulfill its mandate.
The President, who is Chairman of NASENI gave the directive yesterday in a Abuja during a virtual meeting of the board of the agency.
He described NASENI as a mechanism to stimulate linkages between science and technology, academics and the industrial sector on the one hand and the country’s economic and industrial transformation on the other.

Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, on Thursday revealed that 4,000 inmates had been released so far under the Federal Government Amnesty Programme to decongest custodial centres in the country.
The minister revealed this in his address at the pulling out parade organised in honour of the Controller General of Corrections, Alhaji Ja’afaru Ahmed.
Aregbesola commended the out-going CGC for his hard work and commitment to the service, saying the CGC “epitomised service, discipline and responsibility”, adding that he had successfully transformed and impacted the service in a positive way.
Giving details of the achievements of Alhaji Ahmed, the minister said, “Currently, 23 inmates are undergoing Post Graduate Programmes comprising of one PhD; 16 Master’s Degree; and six Post Graduate Diploma Programmes.

Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Dr Isah Ali Pantami, has approved the activation of 20 NIN enrolment centres within the FCT, to make the process easier, beginning from Jan. 18, Mr Kayode Adegoke, Head, Corporate Communications of NIMC, Abuja, has said.
A statement he issued, on Saturday, said in the same vein, the minister had approved the closure of enrolment activities at the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) office.
“Members of the public, residents and visitors to the FCT, wishing to enroll for the National Identification Number (NIN), should use the NIMC centers”, he said.
