Pizza May Become the Official Food of This Unexpected State
New York, New Jersey, or Michigan likely come to mind when you re asked to name the home of the best pizza in the country. But there s another East Coast state that wants to claim pizza as its own.
State Rep. Patricia Dillon and Sen. Gary Winfield, both from New Haven, have proposed a piece of legislation to make pizza the official food of Connecticut, according to the
Hartford Courant. The bill, which is only one-sentence long, aims to recognize the contribution of pizza to the state s cuisine and economy. If passed, it would mark the first food item officially attributed to the Constitution State. (Related: The Saddest Restaurant Closures In Your State.)
