New Delhi, Feb 1: With 11,427 new coronavirus cases being reported in a day, India's COVID-19 tally has increased to 1,07,57,610, while the number of people who have recuperated from the disease has surged to 1,04,34,983, according to the Union Health Ministry data updated on Monday.

New Delhi, Jan 26: With coronavirus playing a dampener this year, it wasn t a usual Republic Day morning for children as they weren t allowed entry at the celebrations at Rajpath.
School children, who turn up in large numbers at the Republic Day parade every year, were confined to their homes this time, hooked to their TV sets to watch the festivities.
They did not get the opportunity to dress up and take part in cultural celebrations as schools continue to be closed due to coronavirus. Few schools had organised online essay writing competitions on Republic Day and activities such as flag colouring for primary classes.
No tractor rally allowed in Karnataka on R-Day

Bengaluru, Jan 25: Bengaluru Police Commissioner Kamal Pant on Monday made it clear that the police department will not allow tractor rally in the city on the occasion of Republic Day.
Several pro-farmers organisations have sought permission to hold the tractor-rally protest in the city to express solidarity with tractor parade in Delhi on January 26 by the protesting farmers against the farm-laws.
Speaking to reporters in the city on Monday, Pant said, “We will not allow tractor rally in the city”.
The commissioner said that farmers can stage protests at Freedom Park and police will allow fast-moving vehicles if they want, but not a tractor rally.
