This has put students, trucks carrying essential commodities and patients arriving in Karnataka for medical treatment to hardship at the inter-state border areas. These restrictions on the inter-state movement of people were contrary to the instructions of government of India, Vijayan said in his letter.
He sought the prime minister s urgent intervention with Karnataka to prevent hardship for travellers from Kerala.
Kerala chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Tuesday wrote to prime minister Narendra Modi complaining that Karnataka has imposed new restrictions on entry of people from Kerala.
MPs Should Meet PM On Karnataka Border Issue : Uddhav Thackeray

Maharashtra MPs should meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi and raise the issues of incorporating into the state areas in Karnataka where Marathi-speaking people are in majority and also the Maratha quota, Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray said on Thursday.
Mr Thackeray made the suggestions to all-party MPs during a meeting he held in Mumbai ahead of Parliaments budget session which begins on January 29.
Addressing reporters after the meeting, the chief minister said he urged the Parliamentarians to raise the issues concerning the state before the Centre keeping aside political differences.
