Danielle Bradbery Conjures Up Spirit of Grandmother on New Song

Danielle Bradbery lost her dear grandmother just over eight years ago. But to this day, the country singer finds herself surrounded by reminders of her spirit from the tattoos she sees in the mirror, to the sound of her grandmother s voice in her head that, thankfully, has never left her. I remember her voice like she was here talking yesterday, Bradbery tells Taste of Country. It s engrained in me. It s this voice this woman who directly inspired Bradbery to record a Spanish version of her addictive hit Never Have I Ever. Her grandmother, Gloria Avila Redden, was born in Guanajuato, Mexico, and made her living as a female entrepreneur who owned a number of Mexican restaurants in Texas.

CASEY: Presenting the 2020 Dano Awards for Glaring Public Stupidity

Although we’ve already made it to 2021, we still have a few loose ends to tie up from last year. A big one is the 2020 Dano Awards for Glaring Public Stupidity. It’s named after yours truly because I manage to meet the seminal qualifications on a weekly (if not daily) basis. But I’m hardly unique in that regard. There’s a lot of stupidity going around, and the Dano Awards honor it. We had umpteen nominees this year. They were almost everywhere you looked. Often you could find them bare-faced in the grocery store. Here are this year’s winners, in no particular order:

Super fans regard a 1989 match between Mr. Perfect and Bret “The Hitman” Hart in Anchorage as a WWF holy grail, but no recording has ever surfaced. Go to the form at the bottom of this story. What if one of the greatest wrestling matches of all time happened not in New York, Atlanta, Memphis or any of the sport’s traditional hotbeds, but Anchorage? There was no title on the line, only a technical masterclass from two of the most gifted wrestlers ever, each part of a multigenerational tradition of excellence. For more than 30 years, that match has existed only in cherished
