Wednesday, April 21 6:10 a.m. — A person waived down a La Grande police officer on the 2700 block of Bearco Loop to report a suspicious person. The officer checked out the situation and determined the person was a resident. 11:17 a.m. — A caller reporting finding drug paraphernalia on the 700 block of Palmer Avenue, La Grande. An officer made contact and resolved the situation. 11:59 a.m. — La Grande police received a complaint about a theft on the 1100 block of Frontier Court. An officer made contact and took a report. 12:08 p.m. — La Grande police responded to the 800 block of Spring Avenue on a report of a domestic disturbance. Police arrested Christina Marie Shelley, 32, of La Grande, for fourth-degree domestic violence assault.

Officers responded to an 8:05 p.m. call about a collision near mile marker 325 and found one person dead at the scene, according to Trooper Josh Lewis. One victim was flown by helicopter to a nearby hospital, and another was transported by ambulance, Lewis said. The highway was closed in both directions at Curtis Road as officers investigated the scene and collected evidence. Officials would not speculate on the cause of the crash, the condition of the two injured motorists or when the highway would reopen.

Police arrest suspect wanted in South Carolina after hours-long standoff on Boise Bench Jacob Scholl, The Idaho Statesman Feb. 25 A standoff in Boise between Idaho police and a wanted man ended with police injecting gas into a home and arresting the man. Matthew McIntosh, a 33-year-old living in Boise, was booked into the Ada County jail Thursday morning in connection with a felony charge in South Carolina, according to a news release from the Boise Police Department. About 2 p.m. Wednesday, Boise police were called to the 6400 block of West Kirkwood Road after hearing that McIntosh was in a home. The road is south of Overland Road and west of Curtis Road on the Bench. Police said McIntosh is known to have a violent history, according to the news release.
