Several local entertainers are excited that they will have the opportunity to perform at a virtual concert to celebrate the inauguration of United States Vice-President-elect Kamala Harris.
Edwin Yearwood and Kirk Brown confirmed that they were asked to participate in the Caribbean American Action Network’s (CAAN) live virtual Caribbean inauguration party on January 17, which will be held under the theme Celebrating #CaribbeanAmericanKamala.
Toni Norville is also down to perform.
“I feel blessed, honoured, excited, a little emotional and very proud because this is history in the making. This is the first female vice-president and the first black female vice-president of the United States with heavy Caribbean roots,” Yearwood said.

Upon considering Arizona s electoral votes, South Carolina s Sen. Lindsey Graham, a Republican from Seneca who earlier said he d keep an open mind about objections to the certification, said, All I can say is count me out. Enough is enough. I prayed (Biden) would lose. He won. He s the legitimate president of the United States.

Antigua’s very own soca diva Claudette Peters will join artistes from across the region at a special event to mark the inauguration of the USA’s first black Vice President Kamala Harris.
The virtual January 17 event will feature a host of the Caribbean’s biggest names in music in tribute to Harris’ Jamaican roots.
The show will be broadcast at 7pm on the Facebook, Twitter and YouTube platforms of One Caribbean Television (OCTV), as well as on 102.9FM in Antigua and Barbuda.
And while the ‘Something got a hold on me’ singer was tight-lipped about which songs she will be performing, there was no mistaking her enthusiasm.
