The Trojan Duels in Carrollton is a frenetic event – five teams pitted against each other in rotation, and it is a strong field.
Mexico emerged from the fray 3-2 as a team, dropping a tight 41-36 match to the hosts and struggling against Chillicothe but taking the upper hand over Hallsville, Penney and North Kansas City.
Things started well for the Bulldogs against the Trojans. Gavyn Martin captured the 126 match by fall at 1:40. After two wins by forfeit and losses at 145 and 152, Terrell Williams took the 160 contest by fall at 5:59 and Jokiah Sewell followed at 182, dropping Carrollton’s Noah Frank at the 5:40 mark. But it was all Carrollton from there.
