Gunfire erupted in a Tarrant neighborhood Thursday night, sending four people to area hospitals.
The shooting happened shortly before 7 p.m. in the 1600 block of Mountain Drive.
Tarrant Det. Jake Rouse said three victims were taken by ambulance to the hospital from the Mountain Drive scene. The suspect drove to the Alabama Air National Guard base in Birmingham and was transported to the hospital from there.

BIRMINGHAM A Birmingham police officer was arrested while off duty and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol.
Lacandra Evette Barlow, 32, of Birmingham, was booked into the Jefferson County Jail at 2:20 a.m. on Monday, July 5, 2021.
Carol Robinson with al.com said the arrest was made on Interstate 59/20, near Birmingham. Court documents show Barlow was unable to stay in a single lane while navigating curves and she failed to signal when switching lanes. Her blood-alcohol level was registered at .13.
Barlow posted a $2,000 bond and was released from jail at 12:13 p.m. Monday.
