Boris Johnson announced earlier this week that England will be under a national lockdown, in response to rising coronavirus cases in the country. The lockdown could last for several months, and MPs have now voted to pass legislation which could keep the lockdown in England until the end of March 2021. Several businesses and services are allowed to stay open during the lockdown, as they are considered “essential”.

Both the Catlettsburg and Ashland branches of the Boyd County Clerkâs Office will be closed on Thursday and Friday, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
The offices will also be closed on New Yearâs Eve and New Yearâs Day, next Thursday and Friday.

GRAYSON
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet has awarded a $6 million contract to improve Carol Malone Boulevard (Ky. 7/Ky. 1) in Grayson.
The project will include wider travel lanes, new turn lanes, and other work to reduce congestion, improve traffic flow and enhance safety along 1 1/2 miles of the four-lane state highway from Academic Parkway to the Little Sandy River.
Volunteers planted hundreds of spring bulbs. John Malam, chairman of Friends of Winsford Town Park, said: Our volunteers love coming to the park. It is great to be out in the open air. Jo Fawcett, designer of the park s planting scheme, said: “All are naturalised bulbs, not hybrids, which over time will bulk up and spread out. They’re ideal for semi shade, and Town Park’s woodland area with its dappled shady areas is the perfect place for them.
