A 35-year-old Taneytown man who pleaded guilty to filming a 15-year-old engaging in sexual contact and to a separate charge of assault was sentenced to a total of 10 years of prison time.

(TANEYTOWN, MD) – Maryland State Police are actively investigating a shooting that occurred early this afternoon in Taneytown.
The victim is identified as Karlie Burkindine, 26, of Taneytown. Burkindine was transported to the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center for medical treatment.
Police believe the suspect, a juvenile, is related to the victim. He is not being identified at this time. Charges are pending the outcome of the investigation and consultation with the Carroll County State’s Attorney’s Office.
Shortly before 1:15 p.m. today, the Taneytown Police Department received a 9-1-1 call reporting the incident in the unit block of York Street in Taneytown. Officers responded to the home and found the victim with an apparent gunshot wound in her arm. The suspect had fled the scene.

A man s unrequited feelings for a woman apparently turned to rage as he allegedly sent a pipe bomb to the Maryland home of her boyfriend in October, according to news release from federal authorities.
The unnamed man spent 19 days recovering in a hospital and continues to rehabilitate, the release states.
Federal authorities named the suspect in the bombing as Clayton Alexander McCoy, 30, of Chesterland, Ohio. McCoy faces charges of transporting explosives with intent to injure and using, carrying, or possessing a destructive device during and in relation to a crime of violence.
McCoy has an initial appearance in U.S. District Court in Cleveland, Ohio, scheduled for March 12, the release states.
