FacebookTwitterEmail Summer sleep away camps will be able to operate this summer, according to the Cuomo Administration.Times Union file photo ALBANY The Cuomo administration on Wednesday released operational guidelines that will allow New York’s summer sleepaway camps  to open this summer with some COVID-19 cautions in place - including the requirement that children over 2-years-old wear masks. “After a year of remote learning and missed activities, kids need camp this summer more than ever before for their social and emotional well-being,” said Susie Lupert, executive director of the American Camp Association for New York and New Jersey. The guidelines include 6-foot distancing rules for those who aren’t fully vaccinated and masks for unvaccinated staff and campers over age 2. Keeping masks on toddlers is sure to pose a challenge for camp staff.
