Winter car care if your car is sitting in the driveway
If you are not driving as much during these winter months, don t forget about your necessary car maintenance. Author: Bill McGinty Updated: 5:41 PM EST February 18, 2021
CONCORD, N.C. As icy and pouring rain descended across the Carolinas Thursday and with so many people working from home during the COVID-19 pandemic, some Carolinians are not driving as often.
While that might be good news when it comes to putting serious mileage on your vehicle, it can be bad news for other aspects of your car.
Car care should be a year-round concern.
At least 26 people have died as a result of the winter storm
From CNN s Madeline Holcombe
As millions of people across the United States continue to weather a deadly winter storm without power, forecasts predict ice and low temperatures could be ahead for some of the worst-hit states.
This comes as states with typically mild winters including Texas, Oklahoma, Mississippi, and Kentucky are already facing hazardous roads, power outages and water shut offs from the winter storms.
The weather has led to at least 26 deaths, including three people who died in carbon monoxide related incidents and one driver who hit a snowplow.

Since the power went out on Monday night, one family has been rationing oxygen tanks for their five-month-old son in their Killeen, Texas, home.
Angel Garcia says her son was born at 26 weeks and he requires supplemental oxygen. He only came home three weeks ago.
“We have an oxygen machine that converts room air, but since we’ve had no power, we’ve had to use our cylinders,” Garcia told CNN by phone on Wednesday evening. “Those went out and they only deliver those once a month. We’re not able to plug in his pulse oximeter to check on his oxygen. We’re keeping a constant eye on him to see how he’s doing.”
