COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - Some South Carolina teachers are expressing their anger towards the Governor following his
executive order to make masks optional in schools.
Now they plan to make their voices heard by holding a protest in downtown Columbia.
SC for Ed says the protest isnât just about masks. Itâs also about changing the way the state treats teachers.

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - After a long, controversial battle with Lexington County parents against masks in the classroom, the Lexington Richland School District Five voted to make masks optional.
Teachers and officials with the Department of Health and Environmental Control expressed their disappointment with the school board’s decision.
The school board voted 4 to 2 to lift the mask mandate in District Five.
Teachers are hurt over this because they feel their safety is compromised.
