Crossroads Business Expo to return next month with marketing luncheon

The Crossroads Regional Chamber of Commerce Business Expo will return next month with local marketing experts headlining a luncheon panel. The event, billed as the Region s premier professional business event, will take place Feb. 16 at the Patrician Banquet Center, 410 E. US 30. Masks will be required and social distancing encouraged because of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Doors open at 11:15 a.m., and a marketing panel discussion takes place during a luncheon at noon. An exhibit floor then will be opened for local businesses to showcase their wares from 1 to 4 p.m. As 2021 gets underway, local businesses must reenergize their networks and digital marketing strategies for resilience and recovery, the chamber said in a news release. The event’s noontime luncheon will be headlined by a marketing panel featuring local experts and business leaders to discuss the imperative to expand and sharpen digital marketing strategies in 2021.

Seasonal attractions: Holiday exhibits, fun and lights continue

Illumination: Tree Lights at The Morton Arboretum continues to Jan. 3. The spectacular display, this year, is a drive-thru experience. In the past, guests walked around the arboretum to see the trees splendidly lit up in lush, bright colors. Guests travel two miles by car and see all sizes and types of trees decorated with lights. The lavish, colorful decorations allow visitors to view creatively illuminated trees and special outdoor displays. A musical soundtrack is available. Among scenes in the lights display are Woodland Wonder, a Tunnel of Lights and Symphony Woods. Illumination is open from dusk to 10 p.m. Sundays through Thursdays; and dusk to 11 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, through Jan. 3. Cost is $29 to $49 per vehicle, depending on the number of people. Guests must purchase timed tickets in advance. To purchase tickets and for more information, visit mortonarb.org/illumination.

I also realized that the issue being protested would affect the little one when he grew up if changes weren’t made.
