Export credit agencies and states potentially at risk of climate litigation over finance for fossil fuels
BRUSSELS – Export credit agencies (ECAs) – and the governments that oversee them – could be in violation of their international legal obligations if they do not take action to reduce their financing of fossil fuel-related activities imminently. That is the main conclusion of a new legal opinion published today, two days before ministers gather at the Petersberg Climate Dialogue. The opinion, which was commissioned by Oil Change International, for the first time lays out the international law obligations of ECAs that are responsible for tens of billions of dollars per year in support for fossil fuels.

The program pairs students with special needs with students participating in Riverview High Schoolâs agriculture program.

Starting on Wednesday, March 10, Texas restaurants and bars will be permitted to operate with no state-mandated mask requirements, capacity limits, nor social distancing measures, as ordered by Gov. Greg Abbott, and the Austin service industry is mad. Several local groups Restaurant Organizing Project, the Texas Service Industry Coalition, the Amplified Sound Coalition, Emergency Workplace Organizing Committee, and Austin Mutual Aid held a rally outside of the State Capitol on Monday, March 8 to express their frustrations with the lack of protections and support from state officials.
During the rally, service industry workers shared their fears and concerns about having to work without any COVID-related safety measures while also not currently being eligible for the vaccine. They’re asking Gov. Abbott to delay reopening Texas until 70 percent of essential workers are vaccinated. Currently, 91 percent of the entire Texas population hasn’t been vaccinate

A rally outside the Texas Capitol building against Governor Gregg Abbott s plans to lift coronavirus restrictions and fully reopen businesses in the state was met with counter-protests by supporters of the conspiracy theorist site InfoWars.
A coalition of groups who expressed concerns about Abbott s decision to 100 percent reopen Texas organized the rally for Monday, demanding service workers receive a COVID-19 vaccine before the state returns to normal.
One of the speakers at the rally, Karen Hamilton, said she has a heart condition and was forced to quit her job recently because the business planned to fully reopen on Wednesday.
