Talks take place over potential east Cleveland vaccine hub

Staff from The Garth in Guisborough who are playing their part in the vaccine roll-out DISCUSSIONS are continuing over a potential new hub for Covid-19 vaccinations in east Cleveland. Vaccinations are being delivered from Guisborough’s The Garth surgery, but there are concerns the market town is too far to travel for elderly and vulnerable residents living in outlying areas of the borough. Recently Middlesbrough and South Cleveland MP Simon Clarke said the Tees Valley Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) were working to set up two satellite hubs in east Cleveland for vaccinations, subject to NHS approval. Mr Clarke and Redcar and Cleveland Council leader Mary Lanigan have been in discussions with health chiefs about locations which would provide easier access for residents when they are contacted for a vaccination appointment.
