William Rainford Tributes have been paid to Penwortham man William Rainford, who died on January 21 at 90. Known as ‘Bill’, he was the dearly beloved husband of Maureen and the beloved dad of Karen and son-in-law David. Bill was also a grandad to Kaylie, Thomas and Connor and a great grandad to Tiana, Laila, George and Fred. After spending his national service serving in the Korean War with the army, Bill worked at Leyland Motors as a tool maker, which he loved. He was also a keen train enthusiast and loved boats – the family enjoyed many canal holidays on his cruiser, ‘Karen Anne’.
