The Accountant General of the Federation (AGF), Ahmed Idris, has charged the outgoing 2020 Batch A Corps Members who served in the Treasury House to be agents of positive change in the country.
Idris who addressed the Corps Members in his office, when they went to commend him for the conducive working environment and the hospitality they were accorded during their service year in the Office of the Account General of the Federation (OAGF).
A statement by the Director of Information, Press and Public Relations, Mr Henshaw Ogubike on Friday, said the AGF’s admonition came amidst reports of ethnic conflicts in parts of the country.
The Senate has confirmed the appointment of Aghughu Arhotomhenla as Auditor-General for the Federation.
The confirmation of the nominee followed the consideration of a report by the Committee on Public Accounts.
The Chairman of the Committee, Matthew Urhogide, said the committee was impressed by the qualifications of the nominee and found him competent to take on the responsibilities of the office.
The President of the Senate, Ahmad Lawan, in his remarks, called on the federal government to create the necessary wherewithal to improve on the working operations of the office of the Auditor-General to give a boost to the fight against corruption.
